Geography
It is located about two kilometers northeast of the administrative center of Hochkirch.
Neighboring settlements: in the north - the village of Rodetsy , in the southeast - the village of Kolvaz , in the south - the village of Koportsi , in the southwest - the village of Pomortsi and in the west - the village of Vavitsa [2] .
History
It was first mentioned in 1338 under the name of its owner Count Conradus Nydener [3] .
From 1935 to 1965, it was part of the commune of Rodewitz, from 1965 to 1993, it was part of the commune of Pommritz. Since 1993, it has been part of the modern commune Hochkirch [4] .
Currently, the village is part of the cultural and territorial autonomy of the “ Luzhitsky Settlement Region ”, on the territory of which there are legislative acts of the lands of Saxony and Brandenburg, contributing to the preservation of the Luzhitsky languages and the culture of Luzhic [5] [6] .

The official language in the village, in addition to German , is also Upper Luzhsky .
According to the statistical work “Dodawki k statisticy a etnografiji łužickich Serbow” by Arnost Muki, in 1884, 125 people lived in the village (104 of them were Serbluzhichans (83%)) [8] .
