Nurrud

Nurrud is a river in the northern part of Iran , in the province of Mazenderan . It flows through the Elburz mountain range. It flows into the Heraz River [1] (the basin of the Caspian Sea ).

The river originates on the northern slopes of the Kukhe-Herserek mountain at an altitude of more than 3500 m [2] . In the upper reaches flows slightly to the north, then flows between the ranges to the east, flows into the Heraz River at an altitude of 695 meters [1] .

The territories through which the river flows were described in Scottish Geographical Magazine in 1898 [3] .
