Biography

Hile Mosi, the son of Mark Mosi, was born in the city of Shkodra , in northern Albania in 1885. He attended Italian elementary school, and then Xavier Jesuit College . From 1904 to 1908, Mosi studied in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee (southern Austria ) to become a teacher. In 1911, he took part in the Albanian uprising in northern Albania against Montenegro and the Ottoman Empire . In 1916, Mosi became a member of the Albanian Literary Commission , and in 1920 was a member of the Albanian delegation to the League of Nations . He was also a Shkoder deputy from 1920 to 1924 [2] .

In 1924, Mosi was one of the main supporters of the revolution, which overthrew the regime of Ahmet Zogu in Albania and created a democratic government. Fan Noli became the new Prime Minister, and Mosi was appointed Prefect of Korchi and Gjirokastra . After the restoration of the Zogu regime, he was first exiled, but was able to return to Albania in 1927 after the announcement of the amnesty and again served in the government as Minister of Public Works. In 1928, he held the position of Director General of Public Security, and from 1930 until his death, he served as post of Minister of Education [2] .

Creativity

Mosi's poetry is mainly devoted to the themes of patriotism and love. Most of his works were published between 1900 and 1925. In 1909, his The Albanian Songs ( album Këngat Shqipe ) was published in Thessaloniki , and in 1913 his Voice of the Motherland ( album Zan 'i Atdheut ) was published in Trieste .
