Guluzade, Ramin Namig oglu

Ramin Namik oglu Guluzade ( azerb. Ramin Namiq oğlu Quluzadə ; February 1, 1977 ) - Azerbaijani statesman, Minister of Communications and High Technologies (2016–2017) and transport, communications and high technologies (from 2017) of Azerbaijan.

Biography

Ramin Guluzade was born on February 1, 1977 in Baku [1] .

After graduating from secondary school No. 167 in the Yasamal district in 1993, he entered the Azerbaijan State Economic Institute (now the university), where in 1997 he received a bachelor's degree, and in 1999 a master's degree [1] .

Since 2004, Guluzade worked in the Heydar Aliyev Foundation (head of President’s spouse Mehriban Aliyeva ) and headed the department for the Foundation [2] .

In public service

In 2015, the cleaning started at the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies. Many high-ranking employees of this institution were involved in the case of pressure on business, illegal “tapping”, etc., by the Ministry of National Security (MNS) and lost their positions, and the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies itself participated in such actions by the Ministry of National Security as unlawful harassment and interrogation of individuals, harassment of businessmen, etc. [3]

On November 12, President Ilham Aliyev dismissed the then Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov [3] . A few days later, on November 25, Aliyev ordered Ramin Guluzade to appoint First Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies [2] . In parallel, Guluzade temporarily served as minister, and his predecessor as first deputy minister, Iltimas Mamedov, was appointed deputy [4]

On January 15, 2016, Ramin Guluzade, by decree of Ilham Aliyev, became the new Minister of Communications and High Technologies of the country [5] . On February 13 of next year, Aliyev signed a decree on merging the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies with the Ministry of Transport into a single Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies , and appointing Ramin Guluzade as head of the new ministry [6] .

Ramin Guluzade became a member of the new composition of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia, approved by the president in August 2017 [7]

In May 2019, he became one of the members of the Heydar Aliyev Prize Commission (commission chairman Ilham Aliyev) [8] .
