References to his actions in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident in the literature

“Reviving Chernobyl” - Lenina Kaibysheva (1987)

At the forefront of this front, civilian people could not be ordered. But you can lead you. So did the deputy manager of the Yuzhteploenergomontazh trust V. P. Tokarenko. He evacuated people from the territory of the NPP, supervised installation and repair work on the first and second power units. [3]

"Chernobyl notebook" - Grigory Ustinovich Medvedev ( "New World", 1989)

“Approaches to the reactor from the air were dangerous, prevented the ventilation pipe of the fourth block, whose height was one hundred and fifty meters. Nesterov and Serebryakov measured the activity above the reactor at different heights. Below one hundred and ten meters did not fall, for activity sharply increased. At an altitude of one hundred and ten meters - 500 Xenggen per hour. But after the "bombing" probably will rise even higher. To discharge the sand, it is necessary to hover over the reactor for three to four minutes. The dose that pilots will receive during this time will be from 20 to 80 roentgens, depending on the degree of background radiation.

Finally, the first batch of six sandbags was loaded onto the Mi-6. Along with the helicopters, N. K. Antonchuk, V. D. Deygraf, and V. P. Tokarenko flew alternately to the “bombing”. They mounted this reactor, and the pilots needed to show them more precisely where to throw the bags. ” [4]

“After Chernobyl” - Lenina Semenovna Kaybysheva ( 1996)

“ Literally on the eve of the accident, V. P. Tokarenko, deputy manager of UTEM (trust Yuzhteploenergomontazh), who installed all the thermal and nuclear equipment at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, arrived in Pripyat from Kiev. It was necessary to discuss how best to use the YuTEM tower crane “Demag” at the station’s fifth unit, which was under construction at that time. Stayed overnight to go to the construction site on Saturday. And about 5 in the morning the phone rang - an accident. I tried to call Kiev, but the line was blocked. Then Vladimir Petrovich in his personal car, and behind him to another - Viktor Grigorievich Mikitas and other installers rushed to the station. The guards knew them well by sight and missed them. ” [5]

“The base of UTEM was only 150 meters from the fourth block. Tokarenko did not yet know what exactly happened at the station, but it was absolutely clear to him: he must immediately take out the people who remained there. Count those present so as not to forget anyone. ...

He then walked, then traveled in his car from object to object, as it turned out, directly on pieces of graphite in Pripyat, in Chernobyl, and again to the station. He received a dose of about a hundred rem (tentatively, since dosimetrists and physicians began to examine installers only on April 29). The car had to be abandoned - it turned out to be too “dirty.” [5]

“The leaders of UTEM constantly worked together with their teams. V. V. Tokarenko was replaced by another deputy head A. I. Zayats, then Tokarenko came again, then F. M. Khlystov, and Tokarenko had to go to the hospital for a month. V. Fedorenko, department heads E. G. Stein, A. P. Matveev, I. S. Demchenko, V. Khudoley, V. I. Borodi, party organizer Serik, worked alternately. And in the fall of '86, I again saw Tokarenko in Chernobyl, an intelligent and very tired person, and I became convinced that he, the manager and the man, enjoys enormous respect from others. ” [5]

“Chernobyl 12 years later” - Gennady Prisyazhny (Odessa, 1998)

“F. Khlystov and V. Tokarenko found an opportunity to render assistance at any time of the day.

They helped to see the accident through their eyes, their advice and recommendations on the conduct of work had a crucial role in improving my professional training and performance of official duties in the accident zone of a nuclear power plant. " [6]
