Description
Medium sized butterflies. They are distinguished by a yellow color with thick gray anterior and postmedial stripes covering the entire width of the wings, gray stripes circled in cream or white on both sides. The genus was first isolated in 1928 by the American entomologist William Schaus . The valid taxon status was confirmed during a revision in 2019 by the American lepidopterologist Ryan Alexander St. Laurent ( Ryan A. St. Laurent , Cornell University , Department of Entomology, Ithaca , USA ) and Akito Kawahara ( Akito Y. Kawahara , University of Florida , Gainesville , Florida ) [1] [2] [3] [4] .
