Biography
John Waldo was born on January 11, 1851 in Brooklyn. After graduating from high school, he studied at Cornell University for two years. Then he studied law in New York. He was admitted to the bar in 1876 in Pokhipsi . From 1883 to 1889, Waldo was a village lawyer in Ulysses, Nebraska . There he was a member of the board of trustees and served as director of high school.
In 1889, Waldo returned to New York. In 1896, he was elected a member of the New York State Assembly . From 1899 to 1904, he worked as a commissioner in Kings County . From 1905 to 1909 he was a member of the House of Representatives from the Republican Party. After leaving his post he returned to law practice. In 1913, Waldo moved to Los Angeles , and five years later to Pasadena.
John Waldo died in Pasadena on June 16, 1942. After death, he was cremated, his ashes buried in Scotland , Connecticut .
