Description
Small and medium sized wasp-wasps . They are distinguished by long trident mandibles, transverse clypeus, sub-square head, long mesosculelum, short transverse anteromezoskutum, ant formidous body in wingless females (males not found). The methanotum is large, above the mesoscutum. Antennae 12-segmented. Ocellia in females are absent, and their eyes and wings are reduced. Presumably insect parasitoids . The genus was first isolated in 1906, and its valid status was confirmed during a revision conducted later by Brazilian entomologists Magno S. Ramos and Celso O. Azevedo . Afgoiogfa is close to the genera Acrepyris and Pristocera (Pristocerinae) [1] .
