The Accounting Chamber of the Republic of Azerbaijan ( Azeri. Azərbaycan Respublikasının Hesablama Palatası ) is the state budgetary supervisory body, the highest financial control authority of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Subordinate to the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan . The Chairman of the Accounts Chamber is Vugar Gulmammadov (since November 22, 2013) [1] .
Content
History
The Accounting Chamber of Azerbaijan was established in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic. The Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan On the Accounts Chamber was signed on July 2, 1999 by the then President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev [2] . On December 7, 2001, the Chamber began to function [3] .
Functioning
The chairman, deputy chairman and auditors are appointed and dismissed by the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Milli Mejlis).
In 2010, the English version of the official site of the body began work [4] .
In December 2017, amendments were approved to the Law on the Accounting Chamber, which granted the Chamber the right to apply to the Prosecutor General’s Office not only in the event of a crime with signs of a crime. but also for offenses with signs of administrative misconduct [5] .
