Geography
It is located on the southern slope of the hills of Tromberg (Lubin) and Schmoritz (морmorz) to the southeast of Budyshyn.
Neighboring settlements: in the east - the village of Khoynitsa of the commune Kubshyuts and in the south - the village of Kozly [2] .
History
First mentioned in 1419 under the name Coynitz parvum [3] .
Since 1936 it has been part of the modern commune of Großpostwitz [4] .
Currently, the village is part of the cultural and territorial autonomy of the “ Luzhitsky Settlement Region ”, on the territory of which there are legislative acts of the lands of Saxony and Brandenburg, contributing to the preservation of the Luzhitsky languages and the culture of Luzhic [5] [6] .

Population
The official language in the village, in addition to German , is also Upper Luzhsky .
According to the statistical work “Dodawki k statisticy a etnografiji łužickich Serbow” by Arnost Muki, in 1884, 31 people lived in the village (31 of them were Serbluzhichans (100%)) [8] .
