Gennady Viktorovich Silchuk (Zharov) (born June 13, 1949 ) is a Soviet and Russian singer, songwriter in the Russian chanson genre.

Biography

He was born in the family of Victor Nesterovich, an artist of Mosestrada and Claudius, a medical worker . In 1968, Gennady graduated from the Chemical College and almost immediately was called up for military service. He served in Baku in the Air Defense Forces , where he acted as a bass player in the army VIA . He began to write his first songs in the early 1970s, participated in various events, festivals, rallies, and concerts. He has been writing songs since 1976 to his poems . For a short time he was a vocalist and bassist in the group "Contrasts" at the Bauman telephone center in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow Automotive Institute in 1980, specializing in design engineer , worked in his specialty. In the 1980s, he took 1st place at the 2nd festival of author’s song, where he received a 1st-degree display signed by J. A. Frenkel . The songs "Aksinya" and "Ushanochka" were noted.

In 1990, begins to create a group, and with the assistance of S. V. Trofimov in 1992 the group "Amnesty-2" appeared [1] . In the same year he released the album "Ushanochka", which brought fame. The winner of the Chanson of the Year Award, has toured extensively, both solo and with the group. In 2006, the daughter, Alena Gennadyevna Zharova, released the album "Scarlet Sails" [2] , the songs for which were written by his father. He plays the bass and harmonica .
