ARM9 is a group of 32-bit RISC ARM processor cores. The ARM9 processor family includes the cores: ARM9TDMI, ARM940T, ARM9E-S, ARM966E-S, ARM920T, ARM922T, ARM946E-S, ARM9EJ-S, ARM926EJ-S, ARM968E-S, ARM996HS. The ARM9 family of processors was released from 1998 to 2006, and at present they are not recommended for use in new ICs; instead, ARM Cortex-A, ARM Cortex-M, ARM Cortex-R cores are preferred. Kernels
The ARM MPCore family of multi-core processors supports software written using asymmetric ( AMP ) or symmetric ( SMP ) multiprocessing paradigms. [3]
