Biography
Georgy Petrovich Stepanov was born on February 23, 1924. in Leningrad, Mama Stepanova (Radko) Ekaterina Stepanovna (1887-1936). Dad - Stepanov Petr Stepanovich (1886-1937) worked as the chief mechanic at the plant named after N. G. Kozitsky. In 1941, Georgy Stepanov entered the secondary school at the All-Russian Academy of Arts, but the Great Patriotic War dramatically changed life. Together with the school, he was evacuated from the besieged Leningrad to Samarkand, and in August 1942 he was enrolled in the Tashkent Red Banner Infantry School. V.I. Lenin (now the Tashkent Higher Combined Arms Command School ) and after short-term training was sent to the front. Georgy Petrovich fought in the 438th Infantry Regiment of 129 Oryol Division on the 1st and 2nd Belorussian fronts as an assistant platoon commander and foreman of the company, marched from Orel to Augustovo in East Prussia, and was wounded. He participated in the liberation of the cities of Oryol, Unega, Klintsy, Bialystok. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", a letter from the Supreme Commander.
In 1946 he entered the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin, in 1952 awarded the title of architect-artist. Teaching and social activities
