Biography

Tessa Gobbo was born December 8, 1990 in the city of Keene , New Hampshire . She studied at Northfield Mount Hermon High School in Massachusetts , and later entered Brown University , where she received a degree in sociology in 2013. During her studies, she was a member of a university rowing club and regularly participated in various student rowing competitions [1] .

The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 2013 season, when she joined the main team of the American national team and spoke at the World Championships in Chunju , where she won the standings of oar steering wheel fours.

In 2014, she visited the World Championships in Amsterdam , from where she brought the silver dignity award won in the four-wheelless quadruples - in the decisive final race she lost only to the crew from New Zealand.

In 2015, she won by eight at the World Cup stage in the Italian Varese, then she won the world championship in Egbilet , thus becoming a two-time world champion in rowing.

Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . The crew, which also included the rowers Emily Regan , Kerry Simmonds , Lauren Schmetterling , Megan Musnicki , Amanda Polk , Eleanor Logan , Amanda Elmore and the helmsman Kaitlyn Snyder , outnumbered all eight of their rivals in the finals, including ahead of the UK almost pursuing them for two and a half seconds - thereby won the Olympic gold medal [2] .
