Khorgos ( wh. Ex . 霍尔果斯 , pinyin : Huò'ěrguǒsī ) is a city county in the Ili-Kazakh Autonomous Region of Xinjiang-Uygur Autonomous Region of the PRC .

Content
History
In November 1983, the Khorgosky Border Crossing on the border with the USSR was opened in the Khochen county (after the collapse of the USSR - on the border with Kazakhstan).
In 2009, the Jinghe - Yining- Khorgos railway was built. In December 2011, its continuation was completed on the Kazakh side, which connected Khorgos with the terminal in Zhetygen , and since December 2012, freight trains began to run along this line between China and Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, in the area of the Khorgos border crossing, housing infrastructure was erected in parts of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Building . In accordance with the decision of the State Council of the People's Republic of China on June 26, 2014, the western part of Hocheng County was allocated to a separate city county of Khorgos.
