History
The opening of the museum was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian and New Nakhichevan diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church . “Tapan” was founded on the initiative and blessing of the head of the diocese of Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan [2] . The first exhibits were donated by private representatives of the Armenian diaspora : Samvel and Eteri Karapetyans, the Dashyan family, who transmitted the 17th century handwritten gospel. S. Harutyunyan donated the “Book of Stories” by archimandrite Arakel Davrizhets in 1669, R. M. Knadyan - the gospel of the 18th century, A. Ghukasyan - ancient Armenian miniatures [2] .
