Biography
Annette Drews was born on November 22, 1966 in the town of Schwerin , GDR . She was trained in Berlin in the capital rowing club "Dynamo".
For the first time declared itself in rowing in 1986, winning the GDR championship in the program oar steering eight.
As a reserve athlete, she attended the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul , but her participation was not required.
The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 1989 season, when she joined the main team of the East German national team and competed at the World Championships in Bled , where she won the silver medal in the eight, losing only Romanian athletes in the final.
In 1990, she visited the world championship in Tasmania , from where she brought the bronze medal prize won in the eight ranking - in the final, crews from Romania and West Germany bypassed it.
Since 1991, she represented the national team of united Germany, in particular, this season she performed at the World Championships in Vienna , where she took the fifth place in the eight.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she won the right to defend the honor of the country at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona - consisting of a four-seat bezelulnogo crew, which also included rowers Antje Frank , Gabriele Mel and Birthe Zih , finished third in the third behind crews from Canada and the USA - thereby winning bronze Olympic medal [1] . For this outstanding achievement, on June 23, 1993, she was awarded the highest sports award in Germany, the Silver Leaf , [2] .
After the Barcelona Olympics, Hon no longer showed any significant results in the international arena.
