Biography
Born on August 26, 1964 in Stockholm. She grew up in Linkoping and Mutala , in adulthood she adopted her mother's maiden name.
From 1984 to 1985, she studied political science, sociology and German literature at the University of Erlangen - Nuremberg , Germany . Then she studied at Stockholm University , where she received a bachelor 's degree in Spanish and German art history. In 2011, she received a master 's degree in democracy development from Uppsala University .
Worked as an official at the Tjänstemännens central organization ( TCO ) and the Ministry of Employment of Sweden . [1] During the tenure of as Minister for Gender Equality in the Social Democratic Government of Hans Persson , Osa Regner worked with Orbak in the Prime Minister’s Office, and later worked as an official in the Swedish Ministry of Justice . In 2007–2012, she was Secretary General of the Swedish National Sex Education Association ( RFSU , Riksförbundet för sexuell upplysning ). Then, for a short period of time, she worked as the regional director of UN-Women in Bolivia (from 2013-2014).
On October 3, 2014, Regner was appointed Minister for Children, the Elderly and Equality in the Leuven government . On March 7, 2018, she announced her resignation from a ministerial post to take up a position at UN headquarters as deputy executive director of UN-Women . [2] Lena Hallengren , who assumed office on March 8, 2018, was Osna Regner's successor.
Personal life
From 1993 to 1996, Osa Regner was married to economist (he was named Andersson before marriage). Then she was a partner of Per Cedell ( Per Cedell , born 1967), who is the grandson of the clergyman . Osa Regner and Pera Sedella have a daughter (born 2001) and a son (born 2003).
