Biography
Jana Thime was born on July 6, 1970 in the city of Beskov , East Germany . She was trained in Halle at the local Böllberg-Nelson rowing club. There was a ward of coaches Bernd Linder and Jutta Lau .
She first appeared in rowing in 1987, winning a gold medal in the doubles fours at the World Junior Championships in Cologne. A year later, at the junior world championship in Milan, she won a victory on her own.
The first serious success at the adult international level was in the 1989 season, when she entered the main team of the East German national team and attended the World Championships in Bled , where she won a gold medal in the doubles program.
Since 1991, she has been playing for the national team of a united Germany, in particular this season, she won a lone victory at the World Cup in Lucerne and went to the world championship in Vienna , where she took sixth place in the same discipline.
I was present as a reserve athlete at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , but her participation was not required.
In 1993, she single-handedly won the world championship in Rachitsa .
In 1994 she visited the world championship in Indianapolis , from where she brought the bronze dignity award won in the doubles classification - in the decisive final race she lost only to the crews from New Zealand and Canada.

After the Atlanta Olympics, Tim remained in the main team of the German national team for another Olympic cycle and continued to take part in major international regattas. So, in 1997, she added to the track record a gold medal, received in the doubles of fours at the world championship in Egbilet .
At the 1998 World Home Championships in Cologne, she again won the fours gold.
In 1999, she won the world championships in St. Catharines in the deuces, thus becoming the six-time world champion in rowing.
Being among the leaders of the rowing team of Germany, it successfully passed the selection for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney - this time, along with Catherine Boron, she beat all her rivals in the doubles standings and thereby won the Olympic gold medal [1] .
