Mgera Mkrtchyan Street ( armenian րեր Մկրտչյան փողոց ) is a short (about 300 m) Yerevan street, in the central area of Kentron , from Tigran Mets Avenue to Movses Khorenatsi [1] .

Named in honor of the famous Armenian Soviet actor, People's Artist of the USSR Mher (Frunzik) Mkrtychyan (1930-1993).
History
March 25, 2002 the street, previously part of Hanrapetakan Street, was renamed in memory of the artist [2] .
The original name of the Provincial (Nakhangain).
With the establishment of Soviet power, it was renamed in honor of the founder of the Soviet state in Lenin Street, in 1950 it changed its name to Alaverdyan Street after the founder of the Communist Party of Armenia Stepan Alaverdyan (1888-1920) [3] .
The name Hanrapetakan (in Russian - street of the Republic) since 1990, since from the balcony of 37 Aram Manukyan read out the Declaration of State Independence of Armenia and proclaimed the creation of the Republic of Armenia [4] .
