All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce

The All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce is a non-governmental chamber of commerce established in 1953 as the successor to the chambers of commerce that were first founded during the Qing Dynasty . Today, it consists of Chinese industrialists and businessmen under the leadership of the United Front of the Chinese Communist Party, and is also the founding organization of the People’s Political Consultative Council of China and the holder of several seats in the All-China People’s Congress . The organization assists the government in managing China's private economy and acts as a bridge between the private sector and government.

Structure

The agency consists of the following departments:

  • Research department;
  • Department of Membership;
  • Department of Advertising and Education;
  • Department of Economic Services;
  • Department of Poverty Alleviation and Social Services;
  • Department of International Relations;
  • Department of Legal Affairs;
  • Department of Human Resources.

Key Features

The main responsibilities of the FNICC are as follows:

  • improve links between government and the private economy;
  • assist the government in managing the private economy;
  • participate in policy consultations on national policies and strategies in the field of politics, economics and social issues;
  • assist its members in technological innovation, management and culture to increase competitiveness and achieve sustainable development;
  • represent the legal rights of its members and expand their proposals and requirements of the government;
  • provide members with services in the areas of training, financing, technology, legal advice and information, as well as solve the difficulties and problems that they encounter;
  • build closer relations with foreign commercial and industrial enterprises;
  • help members travel abroad for business opportunities and contribute to China's economic reform.
