Competitors and Competition System
The tournament was attended by 16 teams:
- main teams : Brazil , Germany , Italy , China , Netherlands , Republic of Korea , Russia , Serbia , USA , Thailand , Turkey , Japan ;
- applicants : Belgium , Bulgaria (debutant of the League of Nations), Dominican Republic , Poland .
At the preliminary stage, from May 21 to June 20, each team played each in one round according to the tour system. In the final round, which will be held from July 3 to 7 in Nanjing , 6 teams came out, including the Chinese team as its organizer. As part of the final round, matches were held in one round in groups of three teams, then the four strongest played semifinal matches and finals for 1st and 3rd places.
Teams with major status retain the right to participate in the next tournament draw. The worst of the candidate teams will give up a place in the League of Nations 2020 to the winner of the Challenger Cup [1] .
