Darkfighter

Darkfighter is a technology developed by the Chinese company Hikvision . IP video cameras based on this technology are capable of providing clear images in color even at night, in contrast to the monochrome image of many traditional surveillance cameras .

Darkfighter camcorders do not require the installation of additional lighting sources; they provide high-quality color images in HD resolution even when ordinary color video cameras see only complete darkness. Such abilities are possible thanks to a whole range of technologies involved:

Enhanced Sensor

Hikvision uses an enlarged sensor in the design of its Darkfighter camcorders, where the area of ​​each pixel is almost twice the pixel area in standard matrices. And by changing the order of the metal and photosensitive layers, it was possible to achieve a 30% increase in brightness [1] of the resulting image, obtaining a new type of sensor - the so-called "backlight sensor".

In addition, on Darkfighter matrices , a special non-silicone oil is used as a heat conductor, which prevents overheating, absorbing excess heat and transferring it to a metal sheet. This avoids the appearance of noise in the image, which may increase as the temperature of the sensor rises.

Darkeye Lens

An important feature of the Darkfighter series of cameras is the design of their Darkeye lenses , in which:

  1. the spherical shape of the lenses, which can cause image distortion, is used , but the aspherical shape significantly reducing such aberrations ;
  2. multilayer anti - reflective coating technology is used, which reduces the light reflectance and increases the light transmission of the lenses ;
  3. increased aperture , making images brighter and more detailed;
  4. the aperture is constant - even when changing the focal length, the aperture remains maximum.

An additional advantage of the lens is the anti-fog water-repellent coating on the external glass of the video camera, which prevents it from fogging. In the characteristics of camcorders, this feature is referred to as the "Smart Defog" function.

Image Enhancement

Two other technologies that are used in Darkfighter camcorders and provide a bright, clear, color image in low light:

  • Full-frequency noise reduction technology - a method of hardware noise reduction, is used in addition to software noise reduction.
  • Self-adaptive ISP technology - signal auto-processing using multi- exposure , smart light compensation, self-adaptive detail amplification, non-linear auto enhancement.

An important feature is the advanced Smart functionality of Darkfighter cameras, which significantly increases the effectiveness of video surveillance and provides many additional benefits. Intelligent video analytics is able to recognize and identify faces, analyze the audio and activate the alarm when Smart audio detection of unusual sounds, detect the intersection of certain lines and signal all intrusions into the protected area.
