History
The Iviev Museum of National Cultures was founded on June 29, 2009, and the museum opened its doors to visitors on July 3, 2009 [3] . The whole history of the city of Ivye is reflected in the museum. An attempt to open the museum arose in the 1980s, but the exhibits brought from school museums were not executed through the relevant documentation. Also, the next two attempts to open the museum were unsuccessful. Only in 2003, Ivyevsky district executive committee decided to create a museum. The site for the museum was a selected two-story building on the street on September 17, there used to be a Training and Production Plant. By the decision of Ivyevsky district executive committee No. 355 dated September 26, 2003, building No. 9 along the street on September 17 was transferred to the museum, repair work began in 2008 [3] .
The Iviev Museum is the only museum of national cultures in Belarus [3] .
Description
The goal of the Iviev Museum of National Cultures is the development and preservation of traditional national cultures of Belarusians, Poles, Tatars and Jews. The museum exposition consists of four sections: “From the History of the Indigenous Population of Ivyevschina”, “Belarusian Tatars”, “Belarusian Jews”, “World War” [4] . The museum has a permanent exhibition "Under the same sky through the centuries" [5] .
Visitors to the museum will learn about the oldest settlements on Iviev land, about the Middle Ages with its history, castles and legends, about the folk culture of the indigenous population of Iviev region. You can see the model of the Geranensky castle, the coat of arms of Gashtolds “Gabdank”, the cross-encolpion of the XII century, plinf. The Iviev Museum of National Cultures preserves the memory of the culture of the Jewish people, reveals the themes of religion, Jewish life, traditions and national holidays [4] . Photographs, manuscripts, the Book of Memory tell about the Holocaust , which touched the city of Ivye . At the exhibition "World War I" maps of battles, Iviev ghetto , partisan movement, documents and personal belongings of descendants are presented [4] .
The museum uses modern technologies to combine texts, sounds, videos, graphics together [4] .
In Ivyevskiy Museum of National Cultures totals more than 3300 storage units [5] .
The museum is visited by tourists from different countries: Russia , Germany , Poland , Switzerland , Great Britain , Morocco , Italy , Japan , USA , Israel , Argentina , Canada , France , Estonia , Lithuania , Latvia , Ukraine [1] .
