Philip of Savoy (November 1490 - November 25, 1533) - 1st Duke of Nemours , son of Duke Philip II of Savoy and Claudine de Bross . Founder of the Nemur branch of the House of Savoy .

Philip was to become a clergyman, having received the bishopric of Geneva at the age of five. He resigned in 1510 and became Count of Geneva . He served Louis XII (he was with the king at the battle of Anjadello in 1509), Emperor Charles V in 1520 and, finally, the nephew of Louis XII - Francis I.
In 1528, Francis passed the Duchy of Nemours to him and married Charlotte of Orleans (1512-1549), daughter of Louis of Orleans , Duke de Longville [2] . They had two children:
- Jeanne of Savoy (1532-1568), wife of the Duke Nicolas de Merquer ; six children
- Jacques of Savoy , 2nd Duke of Nemours (1531-1585)
