The researcher who described a number of zoological taxa . The names of these taxa (to indicate authorship) are accompanied by the designation " Odhner " . |
In 1934, Odner formulated the Constriction theory to explain changes in the earth's crust . According to this theory, the earth’s crust is a system of valves that rise or fall depending on temperature, rather than moving relative to each other. This theory contradicts the generally accepted theories of continental drift and plate tectonics and was rejected [2] .
Taxa Named
The following taxa were named after Odner:
- Doris odhneri ( MacFarland , 1966)
- Tritonia nilsodhneri (Marcus, 1983)
- Bulimulus sp. nov. ' nilsodhneri '
