The 12th World Volleyball Championship among women's club teams was held from December 4 to 9, 2018 in Shaoxing ( China ) with the participation of 8 teams. The championship title for the 3rd time in its history and for the 2nd consecutive time was won by the Turkish team “Vakyfbank” (Istanbul) [1] .

Championship System
At the preliminary stage, 8 participating teams were divided into two groups. 4 teams (the two best of the groups) reached the playoffs and determined the championship winners according to the elimination system. According to the same system, the final 5-8th places were played by teams that took 3-4th places in the preliminary round groups.
The primary criterion for the distribution of places in groups was the total number of victories, then the total number of points, the ratio of won and lost games, the ratio of goals, the results of personal meetings. For victories with a score of 3: 0 and 3: 1, teams received 3 points each, for victories 3: 2 - 2 points each, for defeats - 2: 3 - 1 each, for defeats 0: 3 and 1: 3 points were not awarded.
