Academic Grand Choir “Masters of Choral Singing”

The Academic Bolshoi Choir “Masters of Choral Singing” is a choir at the Federal State Budgetary Institution of the Russian State Musical Television and Radio Center, which unites the classical music radio station “Orpheus” , various musical groups of the Russian State Museum and Music Center, as well as a production center. A distinctive feature of the Academic Bolshoi Choir is the performance of a large number of world classics in original transcriptions.

History

The Academic Big Choir was founded in 1928. The founder and artistic director of the collective was the outstanding master of choral art Alexander V. Sveshnikov . The former name is the Academic Grand Choir of Central Television and Radio Broadcasting . Over the 90 years of the choir, it has performed thousands of domestic and foreign works, including: operas, cantatas, oratorios, folk songs and sacred music. Some of the recordings of the collective entered the golden fund of domestic music, and also received recognition abroad. The team received a grand prix at the international record competition in Paris and a gold medal at the international competition in Valencia. Many works of composers: Shostakovich , Prokofiev , Khachaturian , Shchedrin , Agafonnikov , Taktakishvili , were performed for the first time in the performance of this particular choir. Together with the choir, such singers as: I.K. Arkhipova , N.G. Gedda , E.V. Obraztsova , D.A. Khvorostovsky , A.Yu. Netrebko , V.V. Ladyuk , Z.L. Sotkilava , M.A. Guleghina , D.M. Korchak , R. Alanya , E.E. Nesterenko ... Such musicians as EF Svetlanov , G. N. Rozhdestvensky , S. T. Richter , T. Kurentzis , E. Morikone , M. L. Rostropovich , V. I. Fedoseyev , A worked with the collective .Dzedda , V.M. Yurovsky , V.T. Spivakov , K. Eshenbakh ... The team performed on significant domestic venues, as well as on the stages of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Indonesia and Qatar .

In 2005, the Academic Bolshoi Choir of the Central Television and Radio Broadcasting was renamed the Academic Bolshoi Choir “Masters of Choral Singing”, People's Artist L.Z. was invited to the post of artistic director. Kontorovich .

In 2008, the Academic Grand Choir “Masters of Choral Singing”, Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation “On Additional State Support to Leading Academic Musical Theaters, Choral and Chamber Musical Groups”, a grant was awarded to the Government of the Russian Federation. In 2008 and 2012, the Academic Big Choir led by L.Z. Kontorovich took part in the inauguration ceremonies of the Presidents of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and D.A. Medvedev .

The choir is a regular participant in the Moscow Christmas Festival of Sacred Music, whose artistic director is Metropolitan Hilarion and V.T. Spivakov .
