Azilia began her career at the age of seventeen, in November 2008 she signed a contract with XL Recordings label under the pseudonym Miss Bank $, but she soon left the company due to disagreements in the vision of her music [1] . After the termination of the contract, she decided to pursue a career under her real name - Azilia Banks ( Eng. Azealia Banks ) [2] . In 2009, she began posting her songs for free download on the Internet, among them were “Gimme a Chance” and “Seventeen” [1] .

In September 2011, her debut self-released single, " 212, " was released. The song became extremely popular, having hit many European charts, in the UK the single received platinum certification . Due to the success of the single, Azilia was offered a contract with Interscope and Polydor labels for the release of a full-length studio album [3] . In May 2012, the 1991 mini-album was released, which also collected positive reviews from music critics.

In July of that year, the Fantasea mixtape, recorded without the label, was released. Having never released an album, Banks terminates the contract with Interscope and Polydor, Prospect Park became her new label. In November 2014, after several transfers, the long-awaited debut album Broke with Expensive Taste was released . The album received positive reviews from critics, and also rose to the thirtieth line of the Billboard 200 album chart. Four singles were released in support of the album: " Yung Rapunxel ", " Heavy Metal and Reflective " and " Chasing Time ".

In March 2016, Banks released the second mixtape Slay-Z . The album features work with artists such as Rick Ross and Nina Sky . In support of the album, the single “ The Big Big Beat ” was released in February, and the promo single “Crown” was included in the re-release.

Since 2017, the singer has been working on the continuation of the Fantasea mixtape - the second studio album Fantasea II: The Second Wave , the release date of which has already been postponed more than once [4] . Three singles were released from the album, in particular “ Anna Wintour ”, which collected positive reviews from critics, although it did not show itself on the charts [5] .

In 2018, the Christmas mini-album Icy Colors Change [6] was released . At the end of May 2019, according to Azilia, another studio album will be released - Business & Pleasure [4] .
