History
The administrative center of the Upper-Chumysh village council until its abolition, with the transfer of the village in the Kiselevsky city district, according to the Law of the Kemerovo region "On the administrative-territorial structure of the Kemerovo region" N 215-OZ of December 27, 2007 [2] .
Geography
Verkh-Chumysh is located at the dam and the Lesnoy brook.

- National and gender composition
According to the 2010 All-Russian Population Census , 345 people lived in the village (178 men, 167 women, 51.6 and 48.4 %% respectively) [1] .
According to the results of the 2002 census , Russians constituted 88% of the 355 inhabitants in the national population structure [3] .
