Biography

He studied drawing in a rural parish school with her teacher V.I. Ilyin, with a drawing teacher, Belova Gymnasium. He studied at the Moscow Stroganov School (1848–1853) [1] by order of the Minister of State Property P. D. Kiselyov [2] . Freelance student of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1853-1861). Pupil A.T. Markov . Repeatedly awarded with the Academy of Fine Arts: small silver (1856); two small silver ones (1857); small and large silver (1858) for the painting β€œDressing a Country Girl to the Crown” ; Small Gold (1859) for the painting "Sending a Peasant Boy to School" ; big gold (1860) for the program "Society of sobriety . " Got knowledge of a class artist (1860). He was sent by a pensioner of the Academy of Arts abroad (1861-1866) - mainly in Paris (1861–1862), Rome (1863–1866), visited Germany, Switzerland, London). Received the title of academician (1867) for the painting "Unequal Marriage in Italy . " [3]

He lived in Sevastopol (since 1866). He taught at the Odessa Drawing School (1872–1873); founder and teacher of the Primary Drawing School in Sevastopol (1882–1896). [one]

As an icon painter, Karneev created most of the images in the church of the Brotherhood cemetery in Sevastopol, as well as images and paintings for the church of St. Vladimir there. He opened the original drawing school in Sevastopol. The artist's works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, museums in Voronezh, Irkutsk, Tyumen. [four]
