Qualification

Qualification for the women's volleyball tournament of the Games of the XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo runs from August 1, 2019 to January 2020.

Qualification System

The 6 participants in the Tokyo Olympic Games will be determined by the results of an intercontinental qualification tournament in which the 24 strongest teams of the world will play according to the rating of the International Volleyball Federation (with the exception of the Japanese team , which does not participate in the qualification of the host country of the Games, and the Cuban team ).

In January 2020, continental qualification tournaments will be held in which 5 more tickets to the Olympic Games in Tokyo will be played - one ticket for each confederation.

Intercontinental Qualification Tournament

24 teams are divided into 6 groups by “snake” based on the position in the rating of the International Volleyball Federation on October 21, 2018 ^[1] ^[2] . Winners of group tournaments will receive tickets to the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Asian Qualification Tournament

The tournament will be attended by 8 strongest teams following the results of the Asian Championship 2019 , with the exception of the Japanese team and the winners of the intercontinental qualification tournament.
