History
In the 1871 List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire (according to 1868-1869), the settlement is mentioned as a treasury village in the Ishim district of the Tobolsk province , at the Babylon river, located 50 versts from the district center of the city of Ishim . There were 28 yards in the village and 168 people lived (77 men and 91 women) [1] .
In 1926, there were 68 households in the village and 334 people lived (162 men and 172 women). Administratively, Tavolzhan was part of the Loginovsky village council of the Abat district of Ishim district of the Ural region [2] .
Geography
The village was located in the southeastern part of the Tyumen region, in the forest-steppe zone, within the Ishim Plain , north of the Babylon River, at a distance of about 12 kilometers (in a straight line) to the southwest of the village of Abatskoye , the administrative center of the district. The absolute height is 68 meters above sea level [3] .
