Zagumenov, Victor Arkadievich

Viktor Arkadievich Zagumyonnov ( October 19, 1952 , the village of Fedorovka in the Samara Region ) is a Soviet and Russian photojournalist. Member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1981. Member of the Union of Photographers of Russia [1] since 2006. Twice winner of the World Press Photo Prize (1980 [2] , 1982 [3] ). Author and compiler of illustrations for the encyclopedia “The Arctic is my home” [4] . Member of more than 100 exhibitions in Russia and abroad [5] .

Biography

Born on October 19, 1952 in the village of Fedorovka, Stavropol District, Kuibyshev Region (currently Samara Region ). He studied at school number 1 in Severomorsk . Consisted in the Komsomol since 1966. He served in the Northern Fleet reconnaissance aircraft, specializing in a darkroom technician, and a photogrammetric decoder (1970-1972). From 1972 to 1978 he studied at Moscow State University. Lomonosov , specializing in photojournalism .

From 1978 to 1981, he was a photojournalist for the Novosti Press Agency [6] . From 1981 to 1983 - lecturer in the faculty of photo-video art of the Correspondence People’s University of Arts . Photojournalist of the magazine "Soviet Museum" (1983-1984). From 1984 to 1991 - photojournalist of the Union of Soviet Societies for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries [7] . Photojournalist of the journal Northern Expanse (1991-1993), the weekly Border of Russia (1994-1995), and the newspaper Russian Taster (2000-2007).

Leading specialist of the press center of the State Committee of the Russian Federation (1993-1994), Head of the illustration department of the publishing house "Roads" (1996-2000), Deputy Editor-in-chief of the journal "Real Economy" (2007).
