Biography
Iakinf Zvyagintsev was born around 1767; came from a spiritual title. He studied at the Oryol Theological Seminary and then at the St. Petersburg College Gymnasium (later the Second St. Petersburg Gymnasium ) [1] .
After graduation, he worked first as a teacher, then as a caretaker of public schools in the St. Petersburg province [1] .
In 1799, Iakinf Zvyagintsev was appointed the prefect of the Oryol Theological Seminary and a teacher of philosophy, history, geography, arithmetic and the German language [1] .
On March 3, 1801, he was tonsured a monk with the name of Israel , on March 25 he was ordained a hieromonk , on April 15 he was elevated to the abbot of the Bryansk Assumption Svensky monastery , appointed present in the consistory, and on June 9 he was appointed rector and teacher of theology at the Orel Theological Seminary [1] .
February 7, 1802 Israel Zvyagintsev was promoted to Archimandrite of the Trinity Zelenetsky Monastery and appointed a teacher of philosophy at the Alexander Nevsky Academy ; on August 3 of the same year, he was appointed as a scribe of the First Cadet Corps and on September 2 - present in the Petersburg Consistory [1] .
February 1, 1804 Israel Zvyagintsev was appointed governor of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery, the prefect of the Academy and a teacher of philosophy, German language, natural history and mathematics [1] .
March 22, 1806, he was appointed rector of the Sergiev Primorskaya desert , with retaining him the post of governor of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery and the prefect of the Academy [1] .
August 31, 1808 Israel Zvyagintsev was moved to Sviyazhsky Assumption Monastery and in the years 1810-1818. served as inspector of the Kazan Theological Academy [1] .
Zvyagintsev Israel died on November 26, 1829 [1] .
