Story
The action of the film takes place in our time, and in many ways is very typical of Latin American life. Realistic pictures of extreme poverty, lack of education and criminalization of Colombia appear before the viewer at the beginning of the film. In typical Latin American traditions, the young Maria Alvarez, the main character of the film, accidentally became pregnant from some boy. To make money, she becomes a drug courier and flies to New York with a cocaine-full stomach. In the USA, people who carry drugs in a similar way are called “drug mules ” (mulo, mula), in our country - “ camels ”. The girl falls into the dirty and cruel world of drug trafficking, but in the end she still manages to break out of the vicious circle and begins to live for the sake of the child.
