Biography
Vasily Nesterovsky was born in 1787 in the family of a deacon. In 1814, having completed a course at the Trinity Lavra Seminary , he entered the Moscow Theological Academy ; at the end of the academic course of the MDA in 1818, he was appointed a teacher at the Bethany Theological Seminary [1] .
On October 20, 1818, Vasily Andreevich Nesterovsky accepted monasticism with the name Jerome and in January of the following year he was ordained a hieromonk [1] .
In November 1819, Jerome Nesterovsky was approved as a master of theology [1] .
In 1820, he received thanks from the Commission of Theological Schools for his teaching activities; in 1822 he was appointed inspector of the Bethany Theological Seminary, in 1823 - rector of the Oryol Theological Seminary ; August 26, 1823 consecrated in the archimandrite of the Peter and Paul Monastery of the Oryol diocese in Mtsensk [1] .
In 1827, Jerome Nesterovsky was confirmed as rector and professor of theological sciences at the Vyatka Theological Seminary and rector of the Sloboda Holy Cross Exaltation Monastery, and in May 1828 he was appointed censor of sermons [1] .
On September 27, 1829, Father Jerome was transferred by the rector to the Assumption Trifonov Monastery of the Vyatka Diocese [1] .
Since December 24, 1833, Jerome Nesterovsky was on the chain of priesthood and sermon in St. Petersburg , where he died on December 21, 1834 [1] .
He had a silver medal for meeting and escorting through the Oryol diocese of the body of Emperor Alexander I [1] .
