Pivabiska (river)

Pivabiska [1] is a river in Cochran County in Northeast Ontario , Canada [2] . The river is the left tributary of the Missinaibi , belonging to the James Bay Basin.

The river originates in the lake of the same name in the town of Casgrain [3] and rushes to the north. It turns north-east, then east, enters the town of Garden [4] and reaches its mouth on the Missinaibi River . The area around the river is quite sparsely populated, with less than two inhabitants per square kilometer [5] .

Climate

Mixed forests dominate around the river [6] , and the region is located in the subarctic climate zone [7] . The average annual temperature in the region is -1 ° C. The warmest month is July, when the average temperature is 16 ° C, and the coldest January is -21 ° C [8] .
