Born in 1972 in Uralsk, Kazakhstan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In military service since 1988, he entered the Ulyanovsk Guards VTKU . In connection with the dissolution of the school in 1991, he continued his studies in the 9th company of the Chelyabinsk Higher Tank Command School , which he successfully completed in 1992.
He graduated from the Combined Arms Academy and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (2013).
He served from the commander of a tank platoon in the tank battalion 409 MSP 147 md ( Akhalkalaki ) of the Group of Russian Forces in Transcaucasia (GRVZ) (Transcaucasian Military District) to the commander of the 27th separate motorized rifle brigade in the Western Military District.
After graduating from the Combined Arms Academy of the RF Armed Forces, he was appointed deputy commander of the 1st Guards of the Sevastopol Red Banner Order of Alexander Nevsky Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Taman Division.
From 2006 to 2008 - commander of the 1st Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment . 2008 - 2009 - Deputy Commander of the Taman Division [1] .
Since 2009 - commander of the 5th Taman Guards separate motorized rifle brigade . By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of February 23, 2011 N 217, the military rank “ Major General ” was awarded.
From 2011 to 2012 - commander of the 205th separate motorized rifle brigade [2] .
In 2013, graduated with honors from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation .
From 2013 to 2014 - Head of the 392nd District Training Center in the Eastern Military District.
Since 2015 - Deputy Commander of the 36th Combined Arms Army, since 2017 - Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander of the 36th Combined Arms Army. In 2017 - commander of the Euphrates group in Syria.
Since 2017 - chief of staff - deputy commander of the combined arms army of the BBO.
By a decree of the President of the Russian Federation in May 2018, Major General Andrei Ivanaev was appointed commander of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army . On May 15, 2018, in Voronezh, the head of the headquarters of the Western Military District, Lieutenant-General Viktor Astapov, handed over the personal standard to the new commander of the combined arms army, Major General Andrei Ivanaev, and introduced personnel to the compound [3] .
By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 11.06.2019 N 258, the military rank “ Lieutenant General ” was awarded.
