TXT ( cor. 투모로우 바이 투게더 ; TXT - short for Tomorrow X Together ) is a South Korean boyband created in 2019 by Big Hit Entertainment . The group consists of five members: Choi Yongjun, Choi Subin (he is the leader), Choi Bomgyu, Kang Taehyun and Hyunin Kai. TXT is the first Big Hit Entertainment band since BTS debuted in 2013. Title
The name of the group is an acronym for the phrase "Tomorrow X Together." [3] In Korean, the name looks like “투모로우 바이 투게더”, or the phrase “ Tomorrow X Together ” in Hangul . The full name of the group in English sounds the same as in Korean. [4] According to Big Hit Entertainment, the name reflects the idea of all the participants "to get together with one dream in the hope of building a new tomorrow." [5] The name also reflects the idea that all participants are different from each other, but together form synergy and dream of building a new tomorrow.
Career
Pre-Debut
The plans for the debut of the new male group were revealed by the founder of Big Hit Entertainment, Ban Shih Hyuk , back in 2017. [6] Officially, plans to launch the team were announced in November 2018, and the debut itself was supposed to take place in early 2019. Shortly after, it was reported that there would be five members in the group, and that the debut would take place in March, but the agency denied this information. [7] [8] [9] On January 10, 2019, TXT were officially disclosed through the website. [10] In the next ten days, intro videos were presented with each participant. [11] At the end, a teaser was presented with the entire final composition: Yongjun, Subin, Bomgyu, Kai and Taehyun. [12] The remaining teaser videos, titled “Question Film,” were released in the last week of January. [13]
2019-present: Debut with The Dream Chapter: Star
On February 7, Big Hit confirmed the official debut date of March 4. The debut show was broadcast on Mnet , and the name of the debut mini-album , The Dream Chapter: Star , was also announced. [14] A debut showcase was held on March 5 at Yes24 Hall. February 21 was published a track list of the upcoming album. [15] On February 26, the first teaser of the video clip “어느 날 머리 에서 뿔 이 자랐다 (CROWN)” was released. [16] It was also reported that over three thousand days (February 19 to 22) more than 100 thousand copies of the album had not yet been pre-ordered. . [17] On March 12, eight days after the debut, TXT took their first award at The Show . [18]
On April 24, the Cat & Dog video clip was released. On May 3, the American version of "Cat & Dog" was released, and with it a clip. [nineteen]
On April 25, it was announced that the group’s fan club was called YOUNG ONE . However, the name of the fan club was canceled, as it coincided with the name of the Tiffany fan club.
On May 9, the band hosted a showcase in New York as part of the Tomorrow x Together Showcase: Star in US tour. In addition to New York, the group visited 5 more cities: Chicago , Orlando , Atlanta , Dallas and Los Angeles . The tour was from May 9 to 24. [20]
On May 15, Mnet confirmed the launch of the first TXT reality show. The upcoming project of recent debutants will be called ONE DREAM.TXT. This is the first reality show in the history of the group, thanks to which fans will be able to follow the adventures of the children during their trip as part of the tour “TOMORROW X TOGETHER SHOWCASE: STAR in US”. Participants will demonstrate their professionalism in work, as well as the naturalness of their daily lives.
On June 1, the band performed at the Wango Tango Festival in Carson , California .
