Museum of Local Lore of Sharypovo

On March 28, 1984, the Sharypov City Council of People’s Deputies decided to organize and open a city volunteer museum of local history in Sharypovo. The museum was located in 23 hostels.

On October 10, 1984, the city public museum began to work. The first expositions were dedicated to the history of the party and Komsomol organizations of the city, Komsomol detachments, the construction of Sharypov and KATEK facilities. The first name is the KATEK History Museum, and since the city was called Chernenko during this period, the central place in the exposition was occupied by materials dedicated to the memory of K.U. Chernenko , who was a native of these places.

In 1986, the museum moved to a new building in the sixth district, with an area of ​​about 150 square meters.

In 1994, the museum was included in the state network of museums with a historical and local history profile.

In 1996, the KATEK History Museum was transformed into the Sharypov Regional Museum-Exhibition and Excursion Complex.

In 2003, the museum moved to a new building - the building of the former Scarlet Sails kindergarten. The area of ​​the new premises is 625 square meters.

In 2010, the museum opened two new expositions - one dedicated to archaeological finds, the other - an ethnographic hall with a recreation of the Siberian village hut. ^[one]

In 2011, the “Sharypov Regional Museum - Exhibition and Excursion Complex" was renamed into the municipal budget institution "The Sharypovo Museum of Local Lore."

Over the years, the museum was headed by Natalia Mamonova, Lyudmila Vegera, Margarita Kurochkina, Svetlana Trippel, Maria Sheremetyeva. Since July 2017 - Svetlana Zamaraeva.

The museum has 7 permanent exhibits:

• the Paleontology exposition presents the stages of development of fossil organisms that were found in the district. Late Mesozoic invertebrate fossils include ammonites, belemnites, and gastropods. Representatives of the Middle Jurassic period are widely represented: turtles, bones of herbivores and predatory dinosaurs, such as the stegosaurus, sauropod, and kileskus aristotacus. The Holocene of the Quaternary is represented by the bones of a woolly rhinoceros, mammoth, bison and a primitive horse. Some of the subjects of paleontology are the only ones in Russia.
• in the exhibition "Wildlife" is a collection of "Siberian and tropical butterflies." This collection consists of 196 butterflies. The collection contains 17 families: whites, scoops, sickle-wings, fireworms and others. The collection “Minerals and Rocks” is shown, which introduces a variety of minerals, among which there is also a stone called “Bereshit”, named after the Beresh River, flowing in the Sharypovsky district. Another component of this exposition is stuffed animals and birds of the Sharypovsky district.
• “Archeology” exposition includes materials from monuments of various historical eras located on the territory of the Sharypovsky district - from the Upper Paleolithic to the culture of the Yenisei Kyrgyz. The exposition presents more than 300 exhibits obtained as a result of excavations of archaeological sites by the scientific Siberian archaeological expedition led by S. V. Krasnienko and A. V. Subbotin.
• the exhibition “Gifts to the city of Sharypovo” presents objects that were donated to our city by famous people and organizations. Among the significant gifts are a vase belonging to K.U. Chernenko, a symbolic key to Holy Trinity Cathedral and a souvenir club with the signatures of players from the USSR national ice hockey team.
• the exhibition "Military Glory" presents genuine items belonging to soldiers participating in the Great Patriotic War. Rewards of participants with photographs and biographies who took part in the hostilities and forged victory in the rear.
• the “Ethnography” exposition creates an idea of ​​folk life and culture on the territory of our city in the late XIX - early XX centuries, where at that time the village of Sharypovskoye existed. Here, the interior of a peasant's hut was recreated in a Siberian village of the 19th century.
• The KATEK History exposition introduces the history of the formation of the city of Sharypovo, the last All-Union Komsomol strike building, using objects from the 70s and 80s of the 20th century that were used everywhere.
