Ez-Ziyarah [1] ( Arabic: الزيارة ) is a small town in the north-west of Syria , located in the governorate of Hama . It is part of the region of Scalbia . It is the center of the same name Nakhi.

Geographical position
The city is located in the northwestern part of the governorate, east of the Al-Asi River , at an altitude of 252 meters above sea level [2] .
Ez-Ziyarah is located approximately 65 kilometers northwest of Hama , the provincial capital, and 234 kilometers north of Damascus , the country's capital.
History
In ancient times, the city was known as Ziara and was part of the Aramaic kingdom of Hamat [3] .
Population
According to the 2004 official census, the population of the city was 3,541 people (1,807 men and 1,734 women). There were 610 households [4] .
Transport
National Highway 56 passes through the city. The nearest civilian airport is Basil Al-Assad International Airport [2] .
