Scientific and social activities
Ellin Petrovich - author of works on the technology of rare metals and semiconductor materials. The main directions of his scientific activity: physical chemistry and technology of rare metals and semiconductor materials. He performed a series of works on obtaining high-purity silicon and its compounds; became in 1964 one of the creators of industrial technology for producing poly- and single crystals of silicon in the USSR.
Investigated phase equilibria in ternary and more complex systems containing volatile components. He developed methods for the purification of germanium, silicon, arsenic and gallium in the preparation of semiconductor materials based on them. He studied the features of interimpurity interaction in systems with a low content of doping and related impurities. Created new single-crystal materials based on compounds AIII — BV [ what? ] and oxides of rare and rare earth elements [1] .
