Archimandrite Gabriel (in the world Grigory Nikolaevich Amaliev : 1800 - 1872 ) - archimandrite of the Transfiguration Monastery of the Saratov Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church , teacher and rector of the Saratov Theological School.

Biography
Born in 1800 [1] in the family of the deacon of the city of Tsaritsyn [2] .
From 1811 to 1814 he studied at the Penza Theological Seminary , then moved to the Astrakhan Theological Seminary , after which he entered the St. Petersburg Theological Academy [3] . Successfully graduated in 1825 from a course at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy with a master 's degree in theology [2] .
After studying, G. N. Amaliev became a teacher of general history and the Jewish language in the Astrakhan Theological Seminary , then a parish priest in the city of Saratov and took the post of rector of the Saratov Theological School [2] .
Widowed, in 1939, he became a monk with the name Gabriel [3] . He died in 1872 [3] in the rank of archimandrite as rector of the Saratov Transfiguration Monastery [2] .
