Son of Milon I (d. Before 950) and his wife Adelgardis (Adela). Intravitally mentioned in charters dated 950, September 8, 975, and July 980.
In 980, he restored the monastery of Saint-Michel and soon retired there to rest, where he died no later than 992 years.
Wife - Ingeltruda. According to Europäische Stammtafeln - the daughter of Angelbert I de Brienne , according to Settipani - his sister. Children:
- Guy (maybe for a short time was Earl of Tonner)
- Letgarda (d. No earlier than 1016), wife of Count Richard de Bassigny.
After the death of Milon II, the counts of Tonner were two people who bore the same name:
- Milon III (IV) ([950/65] - 1002 or later). He was either the eldest son of Milon II, or his grandson of a son, not known by name, who died at a young age. Mentioned in charters dated 992, 997 and 997/1005 years. Father Renard (Renault) (980/990 - 1039/40) - Count Tonner.
- Milon III (IV), son of the aforementioned Guy, grandson of Milon II, father of Milon V (995/1005 - c. 1046).
Deciding which of them to consider Milon III, and which - Milon IV, is not possible due to the lack of a more or less accurate chronology. There is some likelihood that they are both the same person. However, it is against this version that they had different sons: the first - Ashar, Ed and Renard, the second - Milon and Guy.
