Steppe dawns

“ Steppe Dawns ” (“ State Eye ”) - the Soviet film of 1953 , shot by director Leon Saakov on the novel of the same name by Boris Poor ^[1] .

The film received a permit of March 25, 1953 for all-union rental except Moscow , Leningrad and the capitals of the Union republics, but then the USSR Ministry of Culture imposed a complete ban on the release of the film "due to the extremely low ideological and artistic level." According to film critics Yevgeny Margolit and Vyacheslav Shmyrov : “a film made according to all the canons of the theory of conflict-free and the struggle of the good with the best in the new political conditions has lost all relevance” ^[2] . The film for many years fell on the "shelf" ^[3] .
