MSC Zoe is one of the largest marine container ships in the world. This is the third [1] of the MSC Oscar [2] , MSC Oliver , MSC Maya and MSC Sveva ships.

Title
The vessel is named after Zoe Vago , the granddaughter of Gianluigi Aponte , Executive Director of Mediterranean Shipping Company [3] .
Construction
"MSC Zoe" is built at the shipyards of the South Korean company Daewoo [4] . Launched in 2014.
The cost of construction is 140 million US dollars.
June 24, 2015 transferred to the customer [5] .
Propulsion
The main engine of the container ship is the MAN Diesel 11S90ME-C two-stroke diesel engine. Maximum power - 62.5 MW (83,800 hp). Normal power 56.25 MW (75,430 hp).

Loss of containers at sea
On January 1, 2019, about 345 containers fell overboard in the North Sea [6] . Of these, approximately 200 containers were lost north of the island of Terschelling, the remaining containers north of Borkum. 19 containers and their contents - including organic peroxides, children's toys, shoes, bags, pillows, chairs, televisions and plastic packaging - were washed ashore on the Dutch islands of Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schirmonnickog and on the German island of Borkum in Waddensee, guarded UNESCO Biosphere Reserve [7] .
