Biography
Representative of an old noble family von Plessen from Mecklenburg , known since 1097. The son of statesman, political and diplomatic leader Christian Siegfried von Plessen . Brother politician Karl von Plessen .
Educated at the University of Kiel . He served as chamber junker of King Christian V.
He held important government posts during the reign of King Christian VI , from 1725 he was Privy Councilor and member of the Royal Council of Denmark, chamberlain , governor of amta .
Since 1730, he served as Minister of Finance of Denmark. He carried out a number of reforms [1] , paying special attention to paying off public debt.
Like his brother Karl, he was actively involved in the activities of the Danish Asian company , which conducted trade with India and China and the Danish West Indies company , which greatly increased its holdings and fortune.
