Alpha- (1, 3) -fucosyltransferase 6 ( Eng. Alpha- (1,3) -fucosyltransferase 6 ; EC 2.4.1.152) is the transferase enzyme of the glycosyltransferase 10 family ( fucosyltransferases ), the product of the human gene FUT6 [1] [2] [ 3] . Participates in glycosylation of proteins.

Functions
The enzyme transfers fucosyl from HDF- β-L- fucose to an alpha-2,3-sialylated polysaccharide chain. Participates in the synthesis of the ligand of the E-selectin antigen sialyl- Lewis X ( CD15 ).
Structure and intracellular localization
FUT6 consists of 359 amino acids , a molecular weight of 41.9 kDa. Like other fucosyl transferases, this protein is localized on the membranes of the trans-section of the Golgi apparatus . There are at least 2 protein isoforms.
Expression
Expressed in the kidneys, liver, small intestine, bladder, ovaries and salivary glands.
