Ben Nasser ( Arabic: بن ناصر ) is a city and commune in the northeastern part of Algeria , in the province of Ouargla . It is part of the county of Taybet .

Geographical position
The city is located in the north of vilayet, on the territory of one of the oases of northern Sahara , at a distance of approximately 494 kilometers (in a straight line) southeast of the capital of Algeria . The absolute height is 101 meters above sea level [1] .
The municipality of Ben Nasser borders with the communes of Taybet and El Borma , as well as with the territory of the province of El Oued . Its area is 1668 km².
Climate
The climate of the city is characterized as arid hot ( BWh in the Köppen climate classification ). Precipitation during the year is extremely low (average annual amount is 66 mm). The average annual temperature is 21.5 ° C. The average temperature of the coldest month (January) is 10.1 ° С, the hottest month (July) is 33.3 ° С [2] .
Population
According to the official census of 2008, the population of the commune was 10,330 people. The proportion of the male population was 50.8%, the female - 49.2%, respectively [3] . The literacy rate of the population was 65.3%. The literacy rate among men was 76.9%, among women - 53.5% [4] . 3.5% of Ben Nasser residents had higher education, 10.1% - secondary education [5] .

Through the city passes the national highway N16.
